Foreign Ministry Condemns G7 Interference in Iran’s Internal Affairs

In a statement on Friday night, the Foreign Ministry of Iran strongly condemned the Group of Seven’s interfering statement regarding Iran’s internal affairs, saying it considers the statement as clear evidence of the duplicitous approach of the G7 member states led by the United States toward the issue of human rights.

The Group of 7, influenced by American propaganda and the Zionist regime, knowingly ignores the obvious fact that Iran’s peaceful gatherings were driven to violence through the entry of organized elements of terrorists equipped by the Zionist regime during January 8-10, 2026, the Foreign Ministry said, adding that during that period, a large number of protesters, police, and law-enforcement officers were attacked, martyred, and wounded.

The explicit statements and remarks by current and former American officials, as well as Zionist regime officials, encouraging violence and slaughter of the people, alongside solid documents collected by security authorities, indicate the direct role of the Israeli regime in equipping and organizing armed terrorists and US support for them, it added.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, while reaffirming its legal, ethical, and humane obligations to protect the fundamental rights of the people in accordance with the Constitution, including the right to peaceful protest, with all its power will undertake its responsibility to protect the security of its citizens and public order of the country against imported terrorism from abroad, and also to defend the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran against any foreign threat or aggression, the statement underlined.

The member states of the Group of 7, each of which has a shameful record of gross human rights violations in its own country and in the West Asia region, and due to their full support for the Zionist regime and their practical complicity and indifference to its crimes, are considered a direct accomplice of the Israeli regime in the genocide and colonial erasure of the Palestinian people, and thus lack any legitimacy or moral standing to judge others or to pose human rights claims against them, the ministry stated.

Undoubtedly, the collective memory of the Iranian nation will not forget the memory of support by American, German, British, Canadian authorities, and some other Group of 7 members for the Zionist regime’s military aggression against Iran and the slaughter of hundreds of Iranians in June 2025, it added.

Instead of issuing deceptive and interfering statements, the Group of 7 members should stop meddling in Iran’s internal affairs, end the unjust and illegal sanctions against the Iranian nation, and refrain from exploiting the noble concepts of human rights as a cover for intervention in Iran’s internal affairs and for provoking violence and terrorism, the Foreign Ministry concluded.
