In a message released on Tuesday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi praised the Iranian nation for displaying its greatness by attending massive nationwide rallies on January 12 in condemnation of violent riots.
He said Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorists recruited by the Zionist regime and the US and organized by Mossad and CIA committed the most heinous crimes against Iranian people, vandalized the public and private properties, and killed security forces amid unrest.
The top commander noted that the US and the Israeli regime unleashed the savage mercenaries and ISIL terrorists against the people of Iran to make up for their crushing defeat in the 12-day war they had imposed on Iran in June 2025.
The general said the US’ plot entailed the maximization of casualties with firearms and other weapons by attacking ordinary people and security forces.
He then warned the enemies that guardians of Iran’s security will not allow any criminal ISIL terrorist or the elements recruited by the arrogant powers to take action against the Islamic Republic.
Violent rioters favoring monarchy have vandalized public and private properties in a number of cities across Iran in the past recent days, killing dozens of ordinary people and security forces and inflicting injuries on others.
People across Iran mobilized on Monday to denounce the riots and acts of terrorism, reaffirming their commitment to the Islamic Revolution and condemning those responsible for disrupting national order.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has lauded the Iranian nation for the tremendous rallies and the historic day that they created on January 12.
