Israeli Forces Intensify Attacks against Lebanese Infrastructure

According to reports, Israel continues its incursions into Lebanon, targeting vital infrastructure and municipalities in the southern region.

This includes attacks on municipal workers and city council members, with the most recent incident being the assassination of a municipal employee in Bent Jbeil.

Mohammad Bazii, the mayor of Bent Jbeil, condemned Israel's attack on the vehicle of an employee and the subsequent killing of the individual, stating that the deceased was responsible for the city's electricity grid and was pursuing the issue of power outages in several southern areas. Bazi asserted that despite ongoing Israeli aggression, residents will remain steadfast.

Israeli forces recently targeted vital infrastructure in various southern Lebanese areas, including the Blida region, according to Lebanese journalist Hisham Al-Sweid. Al-Sweid argued that this action reflects Israel's desperation and an attempt to deprive residents of their daily lives.

A Lebanese resident echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that Lebanon is their homeland and that Israeli incursions will not deter them from defending their country.

Furthermore, Israel has intensified its aerial bombardment and continues to violate the 2001 UN Security Council resolution through actions that appear to be sanctioned by the United States.

The persistent nature of Israel’s attacks, despite the ceasefire declaration, indicates a sustained campaign to undermine Lebanese institutions.

The situation is reminiscent of previous instances where Israel violated the ceasefire agreement, targeting regions of Lebanon.

More than a year has passed since a truce was signed, yet the reality on the ground demonstrates the continued escalation of Israeli attacks, violating Lebanon’s territorial integrity on numerous occasions.

With continued daily incursions into southern Lebanon, Israel, with the backing of the United States, is attempting to pressure Beirut and dismantle the Islamic Resistance of Lebanon.
